Punjab warning for flabby cops

Pakistani police officers have been given until the end of the month to shrink their waistlines to less than 38 inches – or get off the streets.

Punjab police said the province’s chief was determined to “turn the force into a fit one”.

A spokeswoman declined to comment on a report that 77 per cent of the officers in Rawalpindi had girths bigger than 38 inches around, but she acknowledged that many are overweight.
