Power restored to three US states

UTILITY crews restored electricity to a vast area of California, Arizona and New Mexico yesterday, a day after a power outage left five million people in the dark, saw two nuclear power stations go offline and halted flights at San Diego’s airport.

Authorities were investigating how a worker making a routine repair in Yuma, Arizona, cut power across the US southwest.
