The plot was reportedly masterminded by convicted killer Dana Martin, who sports a Justin Bieber tattoo on his leg, and is said to be obsessed with the singer. He is accused of arranging for two other men, Mark Aaron Staake and Tanner Ruane, to abduct and murder the singer, his bodyguard and two unrelated victims.

Martin, who is currently serving 978 years in jail for the rape and murder of a 15-year-old girl, allegedly recruited Staake and Ruane to execute the plot on his behalf.

The killer reportedly devised the plan after becoming convinced that Bieber was ignoring his efforts to get in touch with him.

The would-be hitmen were allegedly instructed to carry out the plan while Bieber was playing at Madison Square Garden in New York.

A police document states that Ruane told Martin that Staake had bought a pair of hand-held hedge clippers to castrate the singer.

Ruane was reportedly set to receive £2,500 per testicle. The pair were also allegedly told to strangle the singer with a paisley tie.

The plot was uncovered when Martin told jail wardens about his plan.

Charges

Staake was arrested on November 19. He was driving through Vermont with Ruane, reportedly to kill the first two victims, and was stopped by a US border agent after becoming lost.

Ruane was arrested in New York on November 20. A pair of pruning shears were allegedly discovered in his car.

The arrest warrant states that Staake is accused of conspiracy to commit murder with Martin and Ruane. Ruane is also accused of conspiracy.

New Mexico State Police have yet to decide if Martin will face charges, as he is already serving life imprisonment.

Justin Bieber’s management team said: “We take every precaution to protect and ensure the safety of Justin and his fans.”
