Pirates move British couple

A BRITISH couple being held hostage by Somali pirates have been re-located to reduce the threat of them being snatched from their captors by Islamic insurgents.

Pirate leader Maslah Yare says Paul and Rachel Chandler were moved yesterday to a forest location soon after al-Shabab fighters approached the town of Haradhere, a Somali coastal town that is a pirate lair.

The Chandlers, from Kent, were on a round-the-world sailing trip when they were captured six months ago. Since then successive ransom demands have been refused.
