Pilot sent to claim stolen jet defects

A MILITARY pilot sent by Eritrea to Saudi Arabia to reclaim a jet stolen by two fellow officers when they flew off to seek asylum last October, has herself defected.

The pilot, who holds the rank of captain, told the authorities in Saudi Arabia’s Jizan province she did not wish to return to the East African country.
