Pierce Brosnan’s stepdaughter dies of cancer

THE stepdaughter of actor Pierce Brosnan has died of cancer at the age of 42 - a year younger than her mother was when she succumbed to the disease, it was reported today.

The James Bond star, who lives in the United States, is reported to have flown back to the UK to be with Charlotte, who died of ovarian cancer on Friday.

Brosnan’s first wife, Cassandra, was 43 when she died of cancer in 1991.

He adopted her children, including Charlotte, when he married her in 1980.

The Irish-born star told The Sun: “Charlotte fought her cancer with grace and humanity, courage and dignity. Our hearts are heavy with the loss of our beautiful dear girl.

“We pray for her and that the cure for this wretched disease will be close at hand soon. We thank everyone for their heartfelt condolences.”
