In pictures: Freezing weather sweeps the world
YOU wouldn’t think it looking out at sunny Edinburgh this morning, but across the world, freezing conditions and low temperatures are affecting the likes of the United States, parts of the Middle East and Canada.
We’ve gathered together a selection of the more eyecatching images, including an icy Niagara Falls, snow in Palestine, blocks of ice in the Hudson river and a frozen fountain in New York.
Temperatures in some places on the Eastern Seaboard of the United States have experienced single-digit temperatures (in Fahrenheit, that is) while people have been making snowmen on the streets of Turkey.
