Pakistan president ‘has heart attack’

Pakistan’s president Asif Ali Zardari is in Dubai for treatment for a heart condition, the government said yesterday.

One source said he had suffered a minor heart attack, fuelling speculation the unpopular leader may resign under pressure from the country’s powerful military.

The statement said Mr Zardari went to a Dubai hospital at the insistence of his children, who live there.
