Net closes on the dynasty as dictator’s children targeted

WHILE Col Gaddafi remained at large last night, rebels appeared to be closing in on his children, who played key roles in his regime.

Opposition leader Mustafa Abdel-Jalil, below, said they had captured three of Gaddafi’s seven sons, including al-Saadi Gaddafi on Sunday night.

They also detained Saif al-Islam, the one-time heir apparent. Another son, Mohammed, was under house arrest, and there were reports that another, Khamis, was dead.

Al Jazeera TV reported that Khamis’s body along with that of Gaddafi’s former intelligence chief Abdallah Senussi had been found. Gaddafi’s sons and his daughter Aisha all worked alongside their father. Some had diplomatic positions while otherswere in business with him. Al-Saadi and brothers Mutassim and Khamis headed military brigades. One of Gaddafi’s other sons was killed in the civil war. The whereabouts of Aisha, like her father, were last night unknown.

The International Criminal Court confirmed the capture of Saif who, along with his father, faces charges of crimes against humanity.
