Nearly 60 tombs found in Egypt

ARCHEOLOGISTS have unearthed 57 Egyptian tombs, most of them containing a painted sarcophagus with a mummy inside. The Supreme Council of Antiquities in Egypt said the oldest tombs date back to around 2,750BC.

Twelve belong to the 18th dynasty. The findings were unearthed at Lahoun, in Fayoum, some 70 miles south of Cairo.
