Murder suspect ‘seen in Paris’

French police are investigating claims by two people who said they saw a Canadian porn actor wanted in connection with a grisly Montreal murder out drinking in Paris this weekend.

Luka Rocco Magnotta, 29, is suspected of killing his boyfriend, making a video of the attack, and sending the victim’s dismembered body parts to two Canadian political parties. Police identified the victim as university student Jun Lin, 33.

An official in the Paris prosecutor’s office yesterday said that police were looking into the alleged sightings but had no additional details.

Police believe Magnotta fled to France on 26 May.
