Mubarak sons ‘have £215m stashed’

The two sons of deposed Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak have an estimated $340 million (£215m) in Swiss bank accounts, a senior justice ministry official has said.

Assem al-Gohary said Swiss authorities were investigating whether Alaa Mubarak was involved in money laundering. Mubarak and his sons have been charged with corruption and are under arrest.

Rumours suggest they amassed tens of billions of dollars in corrupt practices.
