Meteorite smashes through surgery roof

A METEORITE the size of a tennis ball punched a hole in the roof of a medical practice in Lorton, Virginia.

Dr Frank Ciampi said staff heard a bang and found the object split in three. The Smithsonian Institution's Museum of Natural History said it weighed about 250g and had probably fallen at 220mph.
