Men arrested after Dalai Lama threats

Police in northern India have arrested eight Chinese men for staying in the country without valid visas. The detentions come amid tightened security in the region because of reports of threats on the Dalai Lama’s life.

A police official said yesterday the men were arrested in Himachal Pradesh state, about 60 miles from the exile headquarters of the Dalai Lama.
