Lula upbeat after cancer diagnosis

THE tumour found in the throat of Brazil’s former president Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva was in an intermediate stage and shows the “classic aggressiveness” of larynx cancer, doctors said yesterday.

Lula’s team of physicians said the 66-year-old was “upbeat”.
