LA hotel water tank body autopsy inconclusive

IT is still unclear whether the Canadian tourist found dead in the water tank of a Los Angeles hotel was killed by another person, authorities said.

An autopsy on Thursday was inconclusive, and authorities say that more tests are required to determine exactly how Elisa Lam died.

Ms Lam was found wedged into the water tank of the Cecil Hotel near LA’s Skid Row on Tuesday, after hotel guests complained of poor water pressure in their rooms. There were also reports of an unpleasant taste to the hotel’s tap water. The water has since been passed as safe to drink by environmental health officials.

The Coroner’s office are now awaiting toxicology reports from the body before determining any further action.

Lam was last seen on CCTV using the hotel lift. She has travelled alone from her Vancouver home to Los Angeles, and intended to continue on to Santa Cruz.

The Skid Row area is notorious for housing a large number of LA’s homeless population.
