Kremlin cat in Twitter flurry
TWITTER jibes forced Russian president Dmitry Medvedev to Tweet yesteday that his cat Dorofei was safe after reports it had run off unleashed a spate of ridicule.
He tweeted: “About the cat. A source close to #Dorofei says he has not got lost anywhere. Thank you all for your concern!”
By then a Twitter account in the cat’s name – @KotDorofey – had almost 400 followers and attracted quips making fun of Mr Medvedev’s relationship to president-elect Vladimir Putin.
“It’s simple. I ran away from Medvedev because he promised to hand me over to Putin. Help me hide!” KotDorofey replied.
