Kim Kardashian and Kanye West name baby North West

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West have reportedly named their baby North West or Nori for short.

The decision ends days of speculation as to what direction the celebrity couple would go in naming their first child. The name North West features on the baby’s birth certificate, TMZ has reported.

Kim gave birth at Cedars-Sinai hospital in Los Angeles last Saturday. Sources close to the couple confirmed the name today, after rumours that the reality TV star and her rap-star partner had settled on the name Kaidence Donda West in honour of Kanye’s mother Donda who died in 2007.

Kim speaking in March during an appearance on Jay Leno’s NBC talk show mentioned the name North and insisted it wasn’t one they were considering.

She said: “North is not on our list,” adding, “we have a list. And some of them are ‘K names some of them aren’t,”

She explained: “But you know what name I do like - but it probably won’t be on our list... I like Easton - Easton West - I think that’s cute.”

Little North West weighed in at under 5 lbs according to reports but mother and baby were said to be “doing great” even though Kim went into labour five weeks early.
