Jail for aircraft parts export

AN Iranian-born man has been sentenced to two years in prison for illegally exporting US military aircraft parts to Iran.

Reza Tabib, 52, of Irvine, California, pleaded guilty to violating the International Emergency Economic Powers Act, which prohibits the export and re-export to Iran of items of US origin.

Tabib was arrested along with his wife, Terri Repic-Tabib, in February 2006 by customs officials.
