Iran steps up its jamming of BBC

IRAN has stepped up the jamming of the BBC’s Farsi-language television service.

Jamming from within Iran has affected BBC Persian TV since its launch in 2009, and one of Eutelsat’s high-power Hotbird satellites has been targeted since July. But the BBC yesterday said Iran had expanded its jamming to target Eutelsat’s W3A satellite, which covers Africa, Europe and parts of the Middle East.
