Indians torch police outpost

The government of Brazil’s jungle state of Para said Indians raided and set fire to a police outpost, apparently after the release of suspects in the recent murder of a member of their tribe.

Fifty members of the Munduruku tribe burned the outpost to the ground on Monday night in the city of Jacareacanga. Four policemen escaped.

Previously two of four suspects in the stabbing death of a tribesman two weeks ago were released.
