In pictures: Dead Sea Scrolls to be unravelled online

Fragments of the 2000-year-old Dead Sea Scrolls are seen in a laboratory in Jerusalem as conservationists announce the publication of the ancient text in a tie-up with Google.

The scrolls shed light on the life of Jews and early Christians at the time of Jesus. Google Israel today launched a website featuring an online archive of high-resolution images of the text, under the custodianship of the Israel Antiquities Authority.
