Horror find on holiday island

Police in Thailand have arrested a Norwegian businessman who admitted killing his Thai girlfriend and keeping her body hidden in his luxury villa for two-and-a-half years.

Stein Havard Dokset, 50, is said to have confessed on Wednesday to killing the woman by pushing her down stairs after an argument at his beachside home on the island of Phuket.

She was reported missing in late 2009.

Police, acting on a tip-off, discovered her decaying body in a bin in Dokset’s bathroom. He has been charged with her murder, hiding evidence and illegal possession of a weapon.
