Hippo makes splash at game lodge pool

A YOUNG hippo chased from his herd at a South African game reserve has become trapped in a safari lodge’s swimming pool.

The hippo plopped into the pool on Tuesday at the Monate Conservation Lodge, north of Johannesburg. Officials plan to sedate him then hoist him out.
