Heist gallery’s locks disabled

THE Dutch art gallery at the centre of a heist last week said that the electronic locks on its doors were disabled before thieves stole paintings by Picasso, Monet and others worth tens of millions of pounds. Thieves forced the mechanical lock on an ground floor exit at Rotterdam’s Kunsthal.

Police arrived within minutes, but the intruders had gone.
