Hanged Judas actor dies

A BRAZILIAN actor playing Judas who accidentally hanged himself during a scene in The Passion of Christ has died

Tiago Klimeck, 27, had been in a coma since the accident on Good Friday earlier this month in the city of Itarare.

Investigator Jose Victor Bacetti said yesterday that Mr Klimeck had accidentally hanged himself during a scene in which his character Judas takes his own life.

About four minutes passed before anyone noticed anything was wrong, believing he was playing his role.

Police are examining the apparatus that was meant to support him during the scene.
