Grandmother in shootout

AN AMERICAN grandmother seriously wounded a mugger in a shoot-out outside her daughter’s home.

Lulu Campbell, 57, was threatened at gunpoint after dropping off her grandson early on Saturday morning on the way to her car in Macon, Georgia.

Mrs Campbell said the man fired at her, missing and she fired back, hitting him in the chest. Her vehicle was hit eight times in the bonnet. Two side windows were shattered. A second mugger fled after she shot at him too. Store owner Mrs Campbell said she was always armed. Her injured attacker remains in hospital.
