Geckos saved from the medicine trade

POLICE have rescued more than 1,600 geckos in a southern Philippine warehouse they suspect would have been smuggled to Asian countries.

Used as aphrodisiacs or in traditional medicines in China, South Korea and Malaysia, a single gecko reportedly sells for at least $1,000.
