Gangnam Style rapper Psy’s new song Gentleman

SOUTH Korean rapper Psy’s long-awaited sequel to the most watched Youtube clip of all time, Gangnam Style, has made its online debut.

Gentleman was unveiled across the world at midnight, and is already approaching 300,000 views.

The K-pop star’s latest single comes loaded with an unprecedented level of expectation - Gangnam Style, a song and video which swept the world last year and has now racked up over 1.5 billion hits, catapulted Psy from stardom in South Korea to global fame as he taught everyone from model Heidi Klum to UN general secretary Ban Ki-moon how to dance Gangnam Style.

The 35-year-old’s new song features the faux-sweary refrain “I’m a motherfather gentleman”, though Psy mostly raps in Korean, as in Gangnam Style.

Gentleman was simultaneously released in 119 countries, although fans in Australia and New Zealand had inadvertantly leaked the song early in other countries due to the time difference.

Gentleman, a satirical song about men who misbehave in nightclubs, will feature a video with a new dance routine, according to Psy.

“I can’t tell you about the dance but all Koreans know this dance,” he said.
