Fruit barrels hid £46m cocaine stash

Customs authorities in Portugal searching a cargo container in Lisbon have discovered 1,235kg of cocaine with an estimated street value of €56.5 million (£46m), the Portuguese Customs Service’s biggest-ever cocaine haul.

The drug was concealed inside barrels containing pulped fruit. The container had been loaded at an Argentine port and was to be delivered to a company near Madrid.
