Former intelligence chief gets 25 years
Colombia’s highest court has jailed a former director of the domestic intelligence agency for 25 years for criminal conspiracy by colluding with illegal far-right militias.
Jorge Noguera was chief of the DAS agency under former president Alvaro Uribe from 2002 to 2005.
Noguera was tried in connection with the killing of left-wing activists and union leaders. Prosecutors said he had shared lists of the activists with right-wing death squads.
