Fatal bus crash school is closed

THE kindergarten that operated a crowded minibus that crashed last week, killing 19 children, has closed and a new public school will open at the same location today, state-run media said.

The minibus, originally a nine-seater, was carrying 62 children and two adults when it crashed head-on with a lorry in China on Wednesday. The teacher and driver died along with the children, who were between three and five years old. All 43 surviving children were injured.

The bus was on its way to the kindergarten, in a rural area governed by Qingyang city.
