Falconio killing accused admits drug trafficking

Australia: Mechanic Bradley John Murdoch who is accused of murdering British backpacker Peter Falconio denied having any involvement in his disappearance.

Murdoch told a Northern Territory Supreme Court jury in Darwin he had passed through Alice Springs on July 14, the same day as Mr Falconio and his girlfriend. But he said he left later that day to smuggle marijuana to the city of Broome.

New York: Police officer Dillon Stewart, 35, who was shot in the heart during a car chase, ignored the wound and helped try to catch the gunman before dying later at a hospital, authorities said.
