Ex-politician guilty of child porn charge

A FORMER German politician was yesterday convicted of possessing and distributing child pornography and given a suspended prison sentence.

The state court in Karlsruhe convicted Jrg Tauss yesterday. Tauss denies any wrongdoing, insisting he was carrying out research aimed at breaking up a child porn ring in his capacity as a politician. He left the German parliament last year.
