Eight people held in body in barrel case

Russian investigators have arrested eight people, including a former provincial government deputy minister, in the case of a city councillor found dead in a cement barrel, allegedly after he owed $80 million in a business deal gone awry.

Mikhail Pakhomov, 37 a councillor in Lipetsk, 215 miles south of Moscow, disappeared last week after three men forced him into a car. His body was found on Monday.
