Earthquake in Iran leaves 32 dead

AN EARTHQUAKE of 6.1 magnitude killed 32 people and injured hundreds more in southern Iran yesterday. Officials said it did not damage a nuclear plant in the region.

The earthquake struck the town of Kaki, about 60 miles south-east of Bushehr, a town on the Persian Gulf that is home to Iran’s first nuclear power plant, built with Russian help.
