Drunken trio die in sauna horror

German prosecutors say three men died after drinking heavily at a Christmas party and passing out in a sauna.

The bodies of the three metalworkers, aged 36-48, were found in the sauna at the oldest man’s home in the western town of Ennepetal on 8 December.

Prosecutors in Hagen said the men’s blood-alcohol level was more than four times the legal limit to drive.

They said it was thought that the three passed out when drunk and then died of heart failure due to the heat and humidity. Prosecutors have ruled out foul play.
