Daughter shames father with abuse video

A JUDGE’S daughter who secretly filmed herself being whipped and abused by her father has won support after posting the video to YouTube.

Hillary Adams, 23, said that she published the 2004 video to shame her father into seeking help for what she claims is an ongoing pattern of behaviour that makes him unfit as a judge presiding over family law and child abuse cases.

The video shows her screaming and cowering on her bed as her father hurled abuse and lashed her with a belt.

The judge has been removed from the bench in Texas, for an initial period of two weeks amid a police inquiry and an investigation by the State Commission on Judicial Conduct, which has the power to recommend his removal.

Miss Adams, who was 16 at the time of the incident and has suffered from ataxic cerebral palsy since birth, said that what she wanted to force her father to seek help.

Child protection cases over which he has presided are now under scrutiny, including one last year in which he dismissed the testimony of an abused six-year-old because he felt that children were “fantasisers”.

His ruling came despite the child’s evidence having been corroborated by independent witnesses.
