China 'will gun down school attackers'

POLICE will open fire on any future school attackers "without mercy" after the deadliest in a string of assaults left seven pre-school children and two adults dead this week, Chinese officials said yesterday.

Wu Huanming, the attacker who barged into a nursery in northern China with a cleaver on Wednesday morning, had been depressed and psychotic, according to local police.
