Brazil dolphin rescue video goes viral

A YOUTUBE video showing beachgoers in Rio de Janeiro rescuing several stranded dolphins has become an internet hit.

The video shows 30 dolphins suddenly beaching, after being caught in a strong current on the Rio de Janeiro coastline.

Those on the beach appear nonplussed at first before quickly racing into the ocean to help the dolphins to safety, pulling their tails to try and drag the mammals back out to deeper water.

The combined efforts of all those on the beach appear to have been successful, with the impromptu rescue party, and assembled onlookers cheering as the dolphins swam to safety.
