Bodies of 59 miners pulled from rubble in Tibet

FIFTY-NINE bodies have been recovered by rescuers at the site of a massive landslide at a Chinese open-cast mine in Tibet. At least two dozen more miners are missing, feared dead.

The miners’ camp was engulfed by mud and rock on Friday in Maizhokunggar County where China Gold International Resources operates its Jiama mine. The landslide left rubble up to 50 metres deep in places.
