It is believed the 20-year-old star will plead guilty to a careless driving misdemeanour and resisting arrest without violence charges, rather than the original driving under the influence charge. Bieber will also agree to take an anger management course and make a $50,000 (£30,000) charitable donation, in addition to paying fines. The plea agreement does not call for a prison sentence.

Bieber was arrested on 23 January at Miami Beach after what police described as an illegal street race between his rented Lamborghini and a Ferrari driven by R&B singer Khalil Amir Sharieff. Bieber was below the alcohol limit, but tested positive for marijuana and Xanax.
