Berlusconi party claim

Fresh claims that a businessman recruited more than 30 women for parties at Silvio Berlusconi’s homes, paying some to have sex with him, added to pressure on the 74-year-old Italian premier yesterday.

Prosecutors in the case against Gianpaolo Tarantini claim in 2008-09 he recruited young women for the parties, according to a court document. “Italy Deserves Better,” La Stampa newspaper said in an editorial.

Mr Berlusconi is already on trial in separate cases in Milan on charges of corruption, tax fraud and paying for sex with a minor.
