Beetles bring roadworks to a halt

A RARE beetle is holding up work on a road in northern Poland.

Ecologists say the protected hermit beetle is living in 60 trees growing along a 12-mile stretch of road that is to be widened. Builders are waiting to hear if the trees can be cut down and moved to other locations where the beetles could find a new habitat.
