‘Back–seat gender tester’ arrested

Police in China have arrested a woman for giving ultrasound tests in the back seats of cars and illegally telling mothers the gender of their foetus.

Gender testing is forbidden in China because it has encouraged parents with a traditional preference for sons to abort female foetuses.

The woman is suspected of working as part of a group.
