Apology for clips of ‘blasphemous’ film

The owner of a Tunisian television station has apologised for showing parts of the animated film Persepolis, which is considered blasphemous by some Muslims.

Nabil Karoui, of Nessma TV, said in a radio interview he never meant to attack the “sacred values of Tunisians”.

Religious hardliners tried to attack the station on Sunday.
