Another Ohio gun death

ANOTHER student has died from wounds suffered in Monday’s shooting rampage at an Ohio high school, authorities said last night.

Demetrius Hewlin was declared dead yesterday morning, a spokesman at a local hospital said.

This brings the total dead to two students. Another has been listed as brain dead.

Two more remain hospitalised with gunshot wounds suffered in the Monday incident at Chardon High School, east of Cleveland.

The suspect being held in connection with the shooting, named as TJ Lane, was a student at nearby Lake Academy, which is for students with academic or behavioural problems.

Daniel Parmertor, 16, was declared dead on Monday, while Russell King, 17, was declared brain dead yesterday. King still has a heart beat, according to the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s office.
