Frustrated passengers were left waiting for news as the airline halted all take-offs yesterday, blaming a problem with their reservation system, which tracks passengers and bags.

It also allows the company to calculate how much fuel a plane needs, as well as how to properly balance planes during flight with passenger seatign arrangements.

While the problem was eventually resolved, the impact of the resulting delays and backlogs are still being felt, with some travellers facing disruption.
