A final flight to freedom

AMANDA Knox boarded a British Airways flight at Heathrow last night on the last leg of her journey home to Seattle.

Journalists on board the flight were prevented from approaching Ms Knox and were told she would be holding a press conference when she arrived home.

It is more than four years since Ms Knox left Seattle to study Italian at a language school in Perugia. She is expected to receive a warm welcome in the US from friends and family who have campaigned for her release.

Ms Knox travelled from Rome with her family, who were in court on Monday night when she was acquitted of the murder of Meredith Kercher.
