Works of distinction at gallery

VANESSA Boyd, an assistant at the Printmakers Gallery in Union Street, examines one of the pieces of work on show as part of Kirsty Whitens exhibition.

Whitens studied at the Edinburgh College of Art before spending a year in Paris, and is now based near Edinburgh.

She has been producing her distinctive warped drawings and paintings for over ten years, and this solo show includes large works on canvas and a new series of stone lithographs.
